HISTORY OF

JACK AND JILL OF AMERICA, INC.

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a national membership organization of mothers with children ages 2-19, dedicated to the mission of nurturing future African-American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.  The organization was founded in Philadelphia in 1938 as a way to provide access to opportunities that African-American children might not otherwise have had.

Today, Jack and Jill boasts over 230 chapters representing over 40,000 families nationwide. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a national theme. Our current Mid-Western Region Theme, "Living the Jack and Jill Experience: Mission-Minded, Dream Driven," supports and evokes the sentiments of our founder, Marion Stubbs Thomas “to bestow upon our children all the opportunities possible for a normal and graceful approach to a beautiful adulthood.”

The Erie Shores, Ohio chapter seeks to create programming to carry out our national organization's mission of being a premier African-American organization dedicated to shaping tomorrow's leaders.  We seek to develop partnerships in the greater Cleveland and Akron areas that will help our children focus on the issues and needs in the community and show them how they can have a positive impact on the world in which they live.

Campus Facility & Features

There are lots of things that make our King of Prussia campus unique and a top choice for massage therapy. We are located in a newly remodeled 12,000-square-foot building that is gray with black awnings. We have five highly experienced instructors on staff who offer the courses you need, such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, and integrative assessment and documentation. On this campus, you’ll learn how to be a successful bodyworker with a broad knowledge of therapeutic and clinical techniques, and you’ll also learn how to effectively communicate with clients and other health professionals. There are many local employment opportunities for Cortiva students who graduate from this campus, such as Hand and Stone, Massage Envy, Elements Spa, Sooth, chiropractor offices, and local sports teams. During your time studying in King of Prussia, you’ll enjoy the beauty of all four seasons and be part of an exciting local community. We love being part of the local community here and are proud to partner with the Toys for Tots charity for community events.

Driving Directions & Parking

Our King of Prussia campus is conveniently located just 0.5 miles from the King of Prussia Mall and on the same side of the road as Home Depot and Carmax. The campus address is 211 South Gulph Road, Suite 100 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and the cross street is Long Road. We’re located just ½ mile from the King of Prussia mall. Ample parking is available onsite at our King of Prussia campus. We share a large outdoor parking lot with other businesses in our complex, so you’ll never have to worry about paying for parking or finding a spot. Parking is available on all sides of our building and is accessible from Long Road.

Benefits of This Campus Location

Our students enjoy commuting to the King of Prussia campus because of how accessible it is to all major highways. Interstates 76, 276, 422 and 476 are all close by, making it easy to hop on and off for classes without getting lost or following complicated directions. Better yet, you don’t even have to drive to class because public transportation drops you right off at the base of our location. In fact, the Number 125 bus drops off right at South Gulph Road and Long Road. The largest mall on the East Coast, King of Prussia Mall, is less than a half mile from this Cortiva Institute location, making it ideally located to run errands or treat yourself after long days of classes and studying. Something else to know about our King of Prussia location is that it is also very close to the city of Philadelphia, which is only about 17 miles away by car. New York City is just a couple hours away by car as well, making this location ideal for graduates who want to explore various career paths and have access to even more job options in a top American metropolitan area.
